Using Zoom and HIPAA compliance

In order to meet HIPAA-HITECH compliance regulations, Behavioral Health Innovation (BHI) has implemented 83 different administrative, physical and data security protocols to ensure the privacy and security of our client's identity and information.

We have worked with Zoom to privately host the Zoom's amazing software on our HIPAA-compliant server in order to ensure the privacy of user identities.

While Zoom cloud services do meet encryption-in-transit requirements, Zoom is not a Covered Entity under HIPAA and does not need to abide by any HIPAA policies. Services initiated from Zoom Cloud are different from those initiated from BHI's HIPAA-compliant platform.

Only Zoom video sessions initiated from BHI's HIPAA-compliant platform would be considered by BHI as fully HIPAA complaint.

BHI protects the identity our users from Zoom by using physical, administrative and data security controls that are unique to our HIPAA-compliant platform.
